The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2025 Division III Men's Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Wednesday, April 30. Players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
1. Ben Blum, Goalie, So., Mount Laurel, N.J. (Stockton). 62.1 save percentage, 11.0 goals against average, 18 saves, 5 ground balls. Blum made 18 saves, one off his career high, in a 12-11 (OT) win over Mary Washington to start the CLC Tournament, including eight stops in the first quarter and one in overtime that resulted in the game-winning goal on the ensuing possession.
2. Michael Marinello, Goalie, Sr., Sherborn, Mass. (St. Lawrence). 77.8 save percentage, 6.00 goals against average, 21 saves, 1 ground ball. Marinello made a season-best 21 saves as #20 St. Lawrence upset #5 RPI 9-6 on Saturday. Marinello and the defense helped hold RPI, which averages 13.6 goals per game, to just six on the afternoon, including just one goal in the first half.
3. Jake Rainero, Faceoff Specialist, So., Summit, N.J. (Drew). 88.6 faceoff percentage (31 of 35), 31 ground balls, 1 caused turnover, 1 goal. Rainero closed out the regular season with a record-breaking day in Drew's 23-11 victory at Juniata, finishing 31-for-35 while smashing the school record for ground balls in a game with 31. The sophomore also scored one goal and caused one turnover.
4. Tony Vazquez, Faceoff Specialist, Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn. (Elmhurst). 81.2 faceoff percentage (26 of 32), 16 ground balls. Vazquez won 81 percent of his faceoffs overall and had eight ground balls in each of Elmhurst’s two wins last week. The junior went a perfect 13-for-13 in a 16-4 win over Carroll, then won 13-of-19 draws in a 15-7 victory over North Central.
5. Aiden Renner, Faceoff Specialist/Midfield, So., Phillipsburg, N.J. (Plymouth State). 70.0 faceoff percentage (14 of 20), 7 ground balls, 5 goals, 2 assists. Renner did everything for Plymouth State on offense and at the faceoff X in a 13-11 win over Massachusetts Maritime, winning 14-of-20 faceoffs and grabbing seven ground balls while also accounting for seven points with five goals and two assists.
6. Eric Brostek, Short-Stick Midfield, So., Bend, Ore. (Dubuque). 1 goal, 1 assist, 7 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers. Brostek had a strong week defensively in Dubuque’s two wins. He recorded one goal, one assist and six ground balls just in the first half of a 18-4 win over Cornell, then added a grounder and two caused turnovers in a close 12-10 victory over Benedictine.
7. Shea Fogarty, Midfield, Jr., Melrose, Mass. (University of New England). 6 goals, 2 assists, 6 ground balls. Fogarty factored in eight of University of New England’s 13 goals on the week, including a threegoal, two-assist performance in an 8-7 over Curry in the regular-season finale to secure a playoff spot.
8. Carson Geier, Attack, Sr., Milford, Ohio (Ohio Wesleyan). 9 goals, 1 assist, 4 ground balls. Geier netted nine goals with an assist to lead Ohio Wesleyan to a pair of victories and a NCAC regular-season title. He scored three times as part of 4-0 second-half run that broke an 8-8 tie and finished with four goals overall in a 15-13 win over #14 Denison. He started the week by sharing the team lead with five goals in 23-8 win over Wooster.
9. Brendan Reddington, Attack, Sr., Meriden, Conn. (Maine Maritime). 4 goals, 6 assists, 2 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers. Reddington had an impressive 10-point performance in a 21-9 win over Thomas, tallying four goals and dishing out six assists while collecting two ground balls and causing two turnovers.
10. Caleb Ruger, Attack, Sr., Grafton, Wisc. (Concordia Wisconsin). 13 goals, 4 assists, 1 ground ball. Ruger led Concordia Wisconsin to a pair of victories last week with 13 goals and four assists. He deposited seven goals with three helpers in a 16-12 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering, including three fourth-quarter tallies to put the game away, and then started the postseason with six goals and an assist to help beat Illinois Tech.
