2025 USILA Men's Lacrosse Team of the Week – Division III – Week of April 7

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2025 Division III Men's Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Wednesday, April 9. Players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
 
The list of honorees are as follows:

1. Alex Fascilla, Goalie, Sr., Huntington, N.Y. (Babson). 76.7 save percentage, 4.08 goals against average, 23 saves, 9 ground balls. Fascilla turned away 23-of-30 shots in a pair of wins for #20 Babson last week. He made 11 saves in just over three quarters of action in a 19-6 victory over UMass Boston and finished with 12 saves and a career-high eight ground balls in Friday's win at Emerson.

2. Mike Allen, Defense, Jr., Williamsburg, Va. (Randolph-Macon).
1 goal, 2 assists, 8 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers. Allen paced Randolph-Macon defensively in a pair of one goal games He started off with three ground balls in an 11-10 win at Sewanee, then had a big game with a goal, two assists, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 12-11 (OT) loss at #10 Washington and Lee.

3. John DeFazio, Defense, Gr., Mountain Lakes, N.J. (Salisbury).
11 ground balls, 4 caused turnovers. DeFazio piled up 11 ground balls and four caused turnovers in two CLC wins for #2 Salisbury at Stockton (21-7) and #4 Christopher Newport (12-9). His best performance came against the Captains, grabbing seven of his grounders and causing all four of his turnovers.

4. Jake Rainero, Faceoff Specialist, So., Summit, N.J. (Drew).
83.7 faceoff percentage (36 of 43), 25 ground balls. Rainero excelled at the faceoff spot in a 1-1 week for Drew, winning 36-of-43 draws and grabbing 25 ground balls. In his top performance, he won all 20 of his faceoffs and picked up 13 ground balls in a 16-4 victory at Wilkes. He also went 16-for-23 with 12 ground balls in a loss at Elizabethtown.

5. Julian Kammerman, Midfield, Jr., Trumbull, Conn. (Roanoke).
7 goals, 2 assists, 8 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers. Kammerman led Roanoke with seven goals and two assists in a win over Shenandoah and a one-goal loss at #13 Lynchburg. He netted a career-high six goals while adding an assist and seven groundballs on Saturday in a 19-18 defeat to the Hornets.

6. Avery Tankersley, Midfield, Sr., Baltimore, Md. (Randolph-Macon).
8 goals, 3 assists, 6 ground balls, 1 caused turnover. Tankersley played a role in seven of Randolph-Macon’s 11 goals in a 11-10 win over Sewanee, scoring four of the team’s first five goals and then assisting on the final three to go with four ground balls and a caused turnover. He also scored four times in the team’s 12-11 loss to #10 Washington & Lee.

7. Caden Alkire, Long-Stick Midfield, So., Ellicott City, Md. (Marietta).
2 assists, 17 ground balls, 1 caused turnover. Alkire finished his week with 17 ground balls, a caused turnover and two assists in a pair of Marietta wins. He started the week with 11 ground balls and an assist in a 16-12 victory over Muskingum, then added six grounders and an assist in an easy win over Heidelberg.

8. Davis Fisher, Attack, Jr., Arnold, Md. (York (Pa.)).
1 goal, 11 assists, 3 ground balls, 1 caused turnover. Fisher led #19 York (Pa.) with 12 points in wins over #7 Gettysburg and Albright, recording one goal with 11 assists. The junior recorded five points on a goal and four helpers in the 20-11 victory over the Bullets, then tied the school record by assisting on seven of the team’s first 11 goals in a 12-10 victory over Albright.

9. Clifford Gaston, Attack, Sr., Welland, Ont. (RIT).
7 goals, 1 assist, 2 ground balls. Gaston tied his careerhigh by scoring seven goals to lead RIT to a 20-12 win over Skidmore in their only game of the week. He scored five of the team’s six goals in the first quarter to jump out to an early lead and put 11-of-13 shots on target overall while adding two ground balls and an assist.

10. Danny Varga, Attack, Jr., Hampton, N.J. (New England College). 16 goals, 7 assists, 8 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers. Varga had a huge week in leading New England College to a pair of wins, scoring 16 goals with seven assists. He recorded 11 points in a 14-7 win over Norwich, scoring six second-half goals and adding an assist to break a 5-5 tie, and added 12 points on nine goals and three helpers the next time out against Albertus Magnus.
