2024 USILA / Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week – Division III – Week of April 15

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2024 Division III Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Wednesday, April 17. Players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
 
The list of honorees are as follows:
 
1. Joseph Perry, Goalie, Jr., Barrington, R.I. (RPI)
12 goals against average, .600 save percentage, 4 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers. Perry made 18 saves to keep #2 RPI undefeated overall and in the Liberty League with a 16-12 win over #7 Union on Saturday. In addition to saving the ball at a 60 percent clip, he also added four groundballs and two caused turnovers.

2. Joseph Johnson, Defense, Jr., Gansevoort, N.Y. (Russell Sage)
5 ground balls, 6 caused turnovers. Johnson spearheaded the Russell Sage defensive effort in Saturday's 16-7 Empire 8 Conference victory vs. Utica, registering six caused turnovers and five groundballs as RSC held the visiting Pioneers scoreless for 25:35 spanning the second, third and fourth quarters.

3. Ethan Little, Defense, Sr., Bel Air, Md. (St. Mary’s (Md.))
1 goal, 1 assist, 3 ground balls, 4 caused turnovers. Little anchored a St. Mary’s defense that allowed only three goals on 22 shots in an 18-3 road conference win over Penn College. He matched a career-best four caused turnovers and scooped up three ground balls while adding a goal and an assist.

4. Wes Silver, Defense, Jr., Newton, Mass. (Ohio Wesleyan)
7 ground balls, 5 caused turnovers. Silver caused four turnovers and picked up three ground balls in Ohio Wesleyan’s 14-9 NCAC win over defending tri-champion Kenyon, and also caused a turnover and collected 4 ground balls in a 17-4 NCAC win at Wabash.

5. Vinny Facciponti, Faceoff Specialist, Gr., Annapolis, Md. (York Pa.)
86.6 faceoff percentage (26-of-30), 17 ground balls, 3 goals, 2 assists. Facciponti netted a season-high two goals and won 7-for-9 faceoffs in York's win over Alvernia, and also racked up three points to help fuel a pivotal 7-0 first half run while winning 17-of-19 faceoffs in a win over Eastern.

6. Sean Lawson, Long-Stick Midfield, Fr., Mattituck, N.Y. (Farmingdale State)
1 assist, 8 ground balls, 7 caused turnovers. Lawson scooped up five ground balls and led all players with three caused turnovers in Farmingdale State’s overtime win, and added three ground balls and four caused turnovers Friday in a win over Mount Saint Vincent.

7. Garrett Smith, Midfield, So., Fishers, Ind. (Ohio Wesleyan)
7 goals, 1 ground ball. Smith led Ohio Wesleyan with five goals in a 14-9 NCAC win over defending tri-champion Kenyon, scoring five times on just six shots. He opened the week with two goals in a 17-4 NCAC win at Wabash.

8. Thomas Stock, Attack, Sr., Selden, N.Y. (Farmingdale State)
13 goals, 4 assists, 2 ground balls. Stock scored two goals in the final two minutes to send Farmingdale State’s game versus Maritime into overtime before netting the game-winner for his fifth goal of the game. He added eight goals and three assists in a win over Mount Saint Vincent on Friday.

9. Luke Fisher, Attack, Sr., Alexandria, Va. (Denison)
12 goals, 7 assists, 9 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers. Fisher had 19 points in three wins for Denison last week, starting with five points (four goals, one assist) against Hiram on Tuesday. He added eight points (four goals, four assists), three groundballs and two caused turnovers to help beat Wittenberg on Saturday before a six-point (four goals, two assists), five-ground ball effort on Sunday versus DePauw.

10. Luke Murphy, Attack, Gr., Scituate, Mass. (RPI)
6 goals, 4 ground balls, 1 caused turnover. Murphy led all players in points as #2 RPI took down #7 Union 16-12 on Saturday, scoring a game-high six goals while adding the second-most ground balls for RPI on the day.
