The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2024 Division II Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
1. Jaden Sealey, Attack, Shorter
Two games, 11 goals, one assist, 12 points, nine ground balls. Scored 11 goals and 1 assist in our first 2 games. Heart and soul of our team every game.
2. Jacob Czyz, Face Off, Florida Southern
1 goal, five ground balls, 12-18 on face offs (.667). Won a game-high 12-of-18 face offs in the win for a .667 win percentage. He also scored the Moccasins' first goal of the game and picked up five ground balls.
3. Michael Simone, Goalie, Florida Southern
Six ground balls, two caused turnovers, .682 save percentage with 7 goals allowed. Simone led the FSC defensive effort with a 15-save performance at No. 3 Wingate. The senior from Smithtown, N.Y., tied a career-high with 15 saves and allowed just two goals over the final three quarters of action. He tallied a .682 save percentage while facing 22 shots on goal and 34 total shots.
4. Nicholas Woodard, Defense, Dominican (CA)
Two ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Had 7 CTOs in 2 games, lead the defense to help secure our first 2 wins back in NCAA D2.
5. Frank Cetrone, Attack, Catawba
Five goals, one assist, six points, one ground ball. Tallied a career-high five goals and an assist in Catawba's season-opening win at North Greenville.
6. Victor Powell, Defense, Lenoir-Rhyne
One goal, one assist, two points, two ground balls, four caused turnovers. One shy of his career high in CTs with four and added a goal and an assist on the offensive end.
7. Zachary Terry, Attack, Limestone
10 goals, 10 points, three ground balls and one caused turnover. Led the Saints to a 24-15 win on opening-day while cashing in 10 goals on 15 total shots.
8. Tim Ladner, Face off, Limestone
One goal, 16 ground balls, 22-37 on face offs (60 percent). Went 22-of-37 at the Center "X" for Limestone while picking up a goal and 16 groundballs.
9. Jack Johnstone, Attack, Rollins
Six goals, one assist, seven points, two ground balls. scored 1/3 of teams points in 18-10 win.
10. Logan Tobias, Midfield, Flagler
Three goals, three points, two ground balls. First opener win for Flagler.
