The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2024 Division II Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
1. Dylan Radke, goalie, Maryville
One game, one ground ball, .750 save percentage. Held No. 18 Lewis to just five goals as the Saints posted a 13-5 victory over the Flyers... Made 15 saves on the day... Shut out the Flyers in the first quarter and made four saves in the first 15 minutes... Surrendered just one score and made seven saves in the first half... Gave up only one goal in the first 39 minutes of the game as the Saints built an 8-1 advantage... Efforts helped the Saints record their first win over a ranked team since defeating No. 13 Rockhurst March 13, 2021.
2. Jackson Klewchuk, midfield, Montevallo
One game, four goals, three assists, one ground ball. 4 Goals and 3 Assists including the overtime winner at #7 Fl. Southern. 1st ranked win for Montevallo in Program History. Shot 40% on the day.
3. Matthew Boas, midfield, Montevallo
One game, seven goals, one assist, four groundballs. 7 Goals 1 Assist in an overtime win at #7 Fl. Southern. Career high in goals and points. Shot 64% on the day.
4. Matt Mitrega, faceoff, Flagler
Two games, 14 ground balls 69% faceoffs. 23-33 f/o vs Tampa and Embry Riddle 14 gb';s great week at the X.
5. Blake Gonzalez, defense, Flagler
Two games, two goals, one assist, five ground balls. Held top match up each game to 2g 1a vs #4Tampa and Embry Riddle and helped us to first win ever vs Eagles in our short history.
6. Tim Lander, faceoff, Limestone
One game, one assist, 11 ground balls, 24-28 (86%) ground balls. Dominated center "x" in an 18-12 win over Florida Tech.
7. Sean Clark, attack, Wingate
One game, five goals, two assists. Clark was huge in his 1st career start, leading #10 Wingate to a 13-6 victory over #6 Mercyhurst, the 2023 national runner-up. Clark had a game-high 7 points with 5 goals and 2 assists.
8. Thomas Sullivan, goalie, Wingate
One game, one ground ball, save percentage .739, six goals allowed. Sullivan piled up 17 saves, allowing just 6 goals as #10 Wingate took down 2023 national runner-up and 6th-ranked Mercyhurst 13-6.
9. Peyton Gensler, attack, Seton Hill
One game, three goals, one ground ball, Gensler scored three times in the Griffins 11-10 win at Molloy; He scored the game tying goal with 46 seconds to play before scoring the game winning goal with 10 seconds left in regulation.
10. Mikey Berkman, attack, Rollins
One game, five goals, five assists, two ground balls. 10 points in 7 goal win at Barton.
