2023 USILA / Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week – Division I – Week of May 1

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2023 Division I Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, May 2. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.

Gavin Adler, D, Cornell
Held Princeton’s Coulter Mackesy without a goal or assist in 14-13 overtime win in game to determine Ivy League championship; had three caused turnovers, including one in OT, and six ground balls.

Tommy Burke, FO, Vermont
Won 16 of 22 face-offs in an 11-7 win over UMBC to wrap up the top seed in the America East tournament; also had a goal and nine ground balls.

Tucker Dordevic, A, Georgetown
Had four goals and an assist in 12-8 win over Villanova; the win wrapped up the Big East regular season title.

Nick DeMaio, A, Towson
Had four goals in a 15-10 win over Delaware; win put Towson into CAA tournament.

Jake Deacy/Jojo Pirreca/Jamison Emsbury, Marist
In a first for the USILA Team of the Week, three teammates are honored as one entity … combined for 17 goals and five assists in a 29-19 win over Quinnipiac in the first round of the MAAC tournament … Embury and Pirreca had 6G, 2A each, while Deacy had 5G, 1A.

Braden Erksa, A, Maryland
Had a goal and six assists in a 14-11 win over Rutgers; win advances Maryland to the Big Ten semifinals Thursday for a rematch at Johns Hopkins.

Matt Knote, G, UMass
Made 16 saves in a 13-9 win over Hobart; the game was a winner-is-in game for the Atlantic 10 tournament.

Patrick Morrison, LSM, Boston U
Had two caused turnovers and five ground balls in a 12-11 win over Army to secure No. 1 seed in Patriot League tournament; had a CT and GB with less than four minutes left to set up the game-winning goal.

Matthew Nunes, G, Virginia
Made a career-high 19 saves in a 12-8 win over Notre Dame; also had eight ground balls.

Dyson Williams, A, Duke
Scored six goals, including the game-winner, and had an assist in an 18-15 win over Syracuse; the win gave Duke the ACC title.
