2023 USILA / Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week – Division I – Week of April 17

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2023 Division I Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, April 17. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.

Brandon Dodd, A, Air Force
Had six goals and four assists in a 22-7 win over Detroit-Mercy; had four goals and an assist in the first 16 minutes of the game. 
 
Tucker Dordevic, A, Georgetown

Had five goals in a 15-14 overtime win over Marquette; scored the game-winning goal in the OT. 
 
Mac Gates, G, Hofstra

Made 14 saves in an 8-7 win over Drexel; made four saves in the fourth quarter while holding the Dragons to their lowest goal total of the season. 
 
Jordan Hyde, A, Utah

Scored 14 goals with six assists in wins over Lindenwald and Mercer; had eight goals against Mercer for a Utah single-game record. 
 
Ethan Insinga, A, Binghamton

Had three goals and three assists in a 16-13 win over UMBC that clinched an America East tournament spot; three goals came as Binghamton built a 9-6 lead and then had three assists during a 4-1 run after UMBC had cut it to 10-9. 
 
Chris Lyons, A, Yale

Had seven goals and one assist in a 16-10 win over Brown; scored five goals in the first half as Yale rallied from 4-1 down to go up 9-8 at the break and then scored twice in the fourth quarter to seal it. 
 
Michael Long, A, Cornell

Had five goals and four assists in wins over Marquette and Army; had two goals and two assists against Marquette in only his second game this season due to injury and then followed that with three goals and two assists against Army, including the game-tying goal in the fourth quarter. 
 
Jake Naso, FO, Duke

Won 21 of 32 face-offs with nine ground balls in a 15-14 win over Virginia; had a career 42 percent win percentage against Virginia prior to this game. 
 
Jack Traynor, A, Penn State

Scored six goals in an 11-9 win over Michigan; had five goals in the final 24 minutes after Penn State had trailed 8-4 and scored four of the goals on a 5-0 run to end the game. 
 
Ajax Zappitello, D, Maryland

Had four ground balls and two caused turnovers in an 11-8 win over Rutgers; Terps defense shut Rutgers out for the first 19 minutes of the game.
