2023 USILA / Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week – Division I – Week of April 10

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2023 Division I Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, April 10. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
 
The list of honorees are as follows:
                                                                                                                                                                                                  
Christian Barnard, GK, Harvard
Made a career-high 16 saves – nine in the second half – and had a .667 save percentage in a 10-8 win over Cornell

Jack DiBenedetto, D, Denver
Held Villanova’s Matt Campbell without a goal on six shots in a 12-6 Pioneers win; also had 3 caused turnovers

Chris Fake, D, Notre Dame
Held Duke’s Brennan O’Neill to just one goal on four shots; also had 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers

Pat Kavanaugh, A, Notre Dame
Had three goals and five assists in the Fighting Irish’s win over Duke and was the first player this season with eight or more points against Duke

Drew Kessenich, M, Detroit Mercy
Scored five goals, including the game-winner, and had two assists in Detroit Mercy’s 17-16 win over Lindenwood; assisted on a goal to start the Titans’ 4-0 run to close the game and scored the winner with 5:45 left

TJ Malone, A, Penn State 
Finished with four goals and three assists in a 12-11 double-overtime win against Johns Hopkins; assisted on the game-winning goal

Kyle Playsted, A, Bellarmine
Scored three goals and had a pair of assists to lead Bellarmine to an 11-10 win over Air Force

Pat Ryan, GK, Navy
Posted a career-best 23 saves and allowed only 10 goals in Navy’s 11-10 win at Loyola

Mike Sisselberger, FO, Lehigh
Won all but one of the 21 faceoffs he took (.950) and picked up 13 ground balls against Bucknell

Joey Spallina, A, Syracuse
Scored four goals and had five assists in Syracuse’s 16-13 win at Princeton
