The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2022 Division III Dynamic Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, May 3. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
- Jayden Wilson – Attack – Maine Maritime Academy
Wilson helped lead the Mariners to their first-ever conference championship, earning North Atlantic Conference Tournament MVP honors. Wilson tallied 19 points over three games for the Mariners last week, breaking the Maine Maritime Academy single-season record for points in season. In the team’s regular season finale, Wilson tallied six goals, on just nine shots, scooped up two ground balls and caused a turnover in the 21-1 win over NVU-Lyndon. In the NAC Semifinals against the #1 seed SUNY Delhi, Wilson scored three goals, dished out two assists and scooped up five ground balls to lead the Mariners to the 12-11 upset. In the NAC Championship game on Sunday, Wilson tallied six goals, dished out a pair of assists, scooped up six ground balls and caused a turnover to help lead the team to a 21-18 win over SUNY Canton.
- Mac Bredahl – Attack – Tufts
In a showdown for the #1 seed in the conference against previously undefeated Bowdoin on Wednesday, Bredahl scored 12 points with four goals and eight assists in 23-15 Tufts victory. The eight assists and 12 points were both the second-most in a game in Tufts history. After Bowdoin closed to within 16-12 entering the fourth quarter, he set up four goals in the fourth as Tufts pulled away. Bredahl finished the week with five goals and 12 assists for 17 points, including a goal with four assists in the quarterfinal versus Connecticut College.
- Zach Schuette – Attack – Springfield College
In his final home game of the season, Schuette erupted for a career-best 12 points as he handed out a career-high seven helpers to go along with five goals in just three quarters of work to bring his season point total to 82 in powering Springfield past Clark, 26-9.
- Nicholas Miller – Attack – St. John Fisher College
Nicholas Miller became Fisher's all-time leader is assists over the weekend after scoring four goals and handing out a game-high six dimes for the No. 5 Cardinals. Miller picked up three ground balls in the win and was credited with having taken six shots. To date, he is Fisher's all-time leader in goals, assists and points.
- Zach Nestor – Attack – SUNY Morrisville
Nestor set the single game record in assists with 9, and tied the single game record 13 points on Monday, leading the Mustangs to an undefeated conference slate and seventh straight league regular season title.
- Matt Belluche – Defense – Union College
Belluche recorded three ground balls and a caused turnover in helping to limit Vassar to just four goals in #4 Union's 22-4 win on Saturday, while also scoring the first two goals of his collegiate career on a pair of rare forays into the offensive end.
-Danny Gilbert – FOGO – Elizabethtown
Senior Danny Gilbert had a career day, helping the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team to a 28-4 win over Goucher on senior day. The Davidsonville, Md. native set single-game program records in ground balls (18) and won face-offs (24). Gilbert also added a goal and an assist to his Saturday total. He leads the Landmark with 159 ground balls and is second with 245 won face-offs. Gilbert is 14th in Division III, averaging 9.40 ground balls per game.
- Tim Luciano – Goalie – Endicott College
Luciano registered a 3.11 GAA in 96:35 alongside 13 saves in a 2-0 week for the Gulls. Luciano was at his best when it mattered most as the junior goalie stopped 10 of the 11 shots he faced in a 14-1 win over Curry in the CCC Quarterfinals on Saturday
- Patrick Lawson – LSM – Mass Martime
Lawson caused five turnovers in two wins this week for the Bucs and picked up four ground balls. From his midfield position he scored three times and had an assist this week.
- Jarrett Bromwell – Midfield – Salisbury University
Bromwell led the Sea Gulls offense on the week with 10 points, with seven goals and four assists. In Salisbury's 14-8 win at Catholic, Bromwell scored a hat trick and tallied an assist. On the second game of the week, Bromwell had a game-high six points in the 23-5 win over C2C rival Mary Washington. He scored four goals and dished out two assists.
