2022 USILA / Dynamic Team of the Week – Division I – Week of April 4

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2022 Division I Dynamic Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, April 5. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
 
The list of honorees are as follows:

- Luke Caracciolo, Bryant, Goalkeeper
Tied a program record with his 20-save performance and held LIU to its lowest scoring output of the season as Bryant defeated the Sharks 8-4. The 20 saves ties for the 19th most in Div. I this season.
 
- Ryan Cornell, Vermont, Goalkeeper
Made 12 saves while yielding just one goal in Vermont’s 12-3 win over conference rival UMBC. He registered a career-best 92.3 save percentage while also grabbing six ground balls and posting his second assist of the season.
 
- Timmy Ley, Boston University, Attack
Produced a career-high nine points, including a personal-best five assists in Boston University’s 17-9 win over Navy. Ley pushed his goal-scoring streak to 31-consecutive games which is tops among Div. I schools.
 
- Chris Lyons, Yale, Attack
The rookie scored three goals, including the game-winner in overtime to lead No. 8 Yale to a 12-11 victory over No. 5 Penn. The win marked Yale’s second in a row over a top-5 team (No. 3 Princeton on March 26).
 
- Brennan O’Neill, Duke, Attack
Paced Duke with seven goals on 10 shots to lead the 15th-ranked Blue Devils to a 15-6 victory over No. 9 North Carolina Saturday in Chapel Hill. O’Neill scored six goals, including the game’s first three, as Duke jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the third quarter.
 
- Jack Rooney, Merrimack, Midfield
Recorded a career-high nine points (4G, 5A) in Merrimack’s 14-9 win over Mount St. Mary’s. Scored three goals and added three assists in the opening 30 minutes to help the Warriors jump out to a 10-5 halftime lead over the Mount.
 
- Jake Taylor, Notre Dame, Attack
Making his first-career start, Taylor set the program record for goals in a game with eight as No. 16 Notre Dame dealt No. 18 Syracuse a 22-6 loss. Scoring his eight goals on 10 shots, Taylor helped the Irish jump out to a 12-0 lead in the contest.
 
- Dylan Watson, Georgetown, Attack
Scored a career-high seven goals to lead No. 3 Georgetown over No. 17 Denver, 17-9. He scored three goals in the Hoyas’ 5-0 run between the first and second quarters that gave GU the lead for good.
 
- Chris Yanchoris, Siena, Goalkeeper
Held Monmouth to just one goal while making a season-high 21 saves in Siena’s 10-1 victory over the defending MAAC champions. Yanchoris and the Siena defense held Monmouth scoreless over the final 42:56 of the contest. It was the fewest goals allowed by Siena since May 1, 2009, when the Saints defeated Providence 7-1 in the opening round of the MAAC Tournament.
 
- Dalton Young, Richmond, Attack
Contributed four goals and three assists in Richmond’s historic 17-13 victory over defending National Champion Virginia. The win marked the program’s first over Virginia in series history and snapped the Cavaliers’ 73-game winning streak against in-state foes that dated back to the 1970s.
