The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2022 Division I Dynamic Team of the Week accolades on Wednesday, April 27. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
- Arden Cohen, Notre Dame, Defense
Part of a Notre Dame defensive effort that held North Carolina scoreless for better than 36 minutes between the second and fourth quarters, as the No. 9 Fighting Irish scored a 12-5 victory against the Tar Heels. Cohen marked Chris Gray, holding the Tewaaraton Award nominee to a season-low 3 points (1G, 2A).
- Evan James, Loyola, Midfield
Scored a season-high 4 goals, including the game’s final three goals, as Loyola rallied to defeat Colgate in overtime 11-10. James beat the shot clock and trimmed the Loyola deficit to one (10-9) before sending the game into extra minutes with his goal off a Seth Higgins assist with 39 seconds remaining. James went on to score the game-winner just over two minutes into OT.
- Leo Johnson, Yale, Attack
Scored a career-high 9 points, including dealing out a personal-best 5 assists, to lead No. 10 Yale to a 17-13 victory over Albany.
- Luke Keating, Villanova, Attack
Scored a season-high 5 goals and dealt out 3 assists to lead Villanova to a 10-8 victory over Marquette. With the Wildcats trailing 5-4, Keating scored five of the final six goals for Villanova, including the game-winner.
- Austin Madronic, Harvard, Attack
Recorded 4 points on 3 goals and an assist in Harvard’s 19-16 upset victory over No. 3 Princeton. Scored back-to-back goals just 6 seconds apart in the fourth quarter, putting the Crimson up for good.
- Luke Majick, Detroit Mercy, Attack
Scored twice in the final minute of the game to lead Detroit Mercy to a 13-12 victory over Cleveland State. Closed out the game with a hat trick, as well as an assist.
- Jack Myers, Ohio State, Attack
Scored 3 goals and assisted on another 5 to lead No. 13 Ohio State to a 14-12 win over Michigan. Myers scored 2 goals and assisted on 2 others in the Buckeyes’ 6-0 run to open the game.
- Scott Ross, Rutgers, Attack
Scored 5 goals, including the game’s final two, to lead #4 Rutgers to a 15-14 overtime victory over Penn State. Sent the game into overtime with his game-tying goal with 8 seconds left in regulation and then scored the game-winner a minute-and-a-half into the extra frame.
- Patrick Skalniak, Navy, Midfield
Helped Navy rally from 3 goals down to upset No. 6 Army West Point 12-11 in overtime on the road. Skalniak paced Navy with a hat trick and in doing so became just the fifth midfielder in school history to reach 40 points in a season.
- Connor Theriault, Brown, Goalkeeper
The rookie recorded a career-high 24 saves in leading No. 14 Brown to a 13-8 road victory over No. 8 Cornell. Theriault and the Brown defense held Cornell scores for the first 18 minutes of the game, as the Bears were able to jump out to a 6-0 lead.
