The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2022 Division II Dynamic Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, March 29. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
- Liam McCann – Attack – Chestnut Hill
8 goals on 16 shots in 2 games this week, 3g 1a in a win over Molloy and 5g in a loss against #7 Mercyhurst.
- Thomas Cecere – Attack – North Greenville
4 Goals and 2 Assists against Lee-McRae. Followed that up with 6 Goals and an assist at Barton.
- Zach Rozgonyi – Attack – Florida Tech
2-0 record. Rozgonyi finished with 6 points on 4 goals and 2 assists, 2 ground balls and 1 caused turnover, including scoring the game-winning goal as the Panthers defeated No. 20 Colorado Mesa 16-15 on Wednesday. The sophomore then tallied 7 points on 5 goals and 2 assists with 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers in Tech’s 19-13 SSC opening win over Saint Leo, a team receiving votes in the USILA poll, on Saturday.
- Adam Mather – Attack – Lander University
4 Points (2g, 2a) on the road at #4 Limestone followed by 9 points (5g, 4a) at home versus LMC. Was also just named PBC Conference POW.
- Brady Kearnan - Attack – Mercy College Kearnan had a game-high eight points on four goals and a game-high four assists in Mercy's win over Molloy on Saturday.
- Sam Balch – Defense – Florida Tech
2-0 record. Balch collected 3 caused turnovers and 3 ground balls in the 16-15 win over No. 20 Colorado Mesa. He then recorded 6 ground balls, 4 caused turnovers and 1 assist in Tech’s 19-13 SSC opening win over Saint Leo.
- Gerry York – FOGO – Montevallo
3-5 vs. Westminster on Wed. 3/23. 14-15 vs. CSU Pueblo with 3 goals and 5 ground balls on Fri. 3/25.
- Austin Barnett – Goalie – UIndy 1-0 week for the Hounds with GLVC win over Lewis which also marked UIndy’s 25th straight win at home. Barnett picked up his eighth win of the season in net, allowing six goals while making 12 saves on 26 shots for a .667 save percentage. This marked his sixth game this season with double digit saves.
- Jackson Downs – Midfield – Chowan
8 points & ZERO turnovers; Old school throwback 2-way midfielder that was dominant all over the field.
- Alec Heflin – Midfield – Rockhurst
Led team with 6 goals and 10 points in wins over Maryville and Adams State. Scored 5 goals in 17-8 win over Maryville.
