The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2022 Division III Dynamic Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, Feb. 22. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
- Zac Schuette – Attack – Springfield College
Totaled a career-high nine points, including eight goals, in helping Springfield to an 18-14 win over Nazareth in their season opener.
- Rob Varello – Attack – Farmingdale State
Varello tied the single-game school record with nine goals in the 26-2 win at Mitchell. Varello's 10 points is tied for second with three other players all-time.
- Cross Ferrara – Attack – Salisbury
Ferrara tied a career-high in points, with 12, leading Salisbury University to a commanding 25-5 opening day win at the University of Scranton. Ferrara scored eight goals and tallied four assists to lead the Sea Gulls. Ferrara had 13 shots with eight on net. He also added in three ground balls.
- Chris Martel – Attack – Bridgewater College
Set new career high with a seven-goal game, including a four goal third quarter to propel Bridgwater past Capital University.
- Ryan Young – Defense – Christopher Newport
Ryan Young tied the single-game school record with eight caused turnovers during a 14-12 victory at Randolph-Macon on Saturday. He also collected eight ground balls, marking the most by a non-faceoff specialist at CNU in two years.
- Eugene Kang – Goalie – Oberlin College
In his first-career start, Eugene Kang was sensational in the Oberlin cage as he turned away 22 shots from Chatham in the 10-7 Yeomen win to finish with a 75.9 save percentage. He made 8 of his 22 stops in the 4th Q.
- Antonio Kaminskey – FOGO – Farmingdale State
Kaminskey was 17-for-18 on faceoffs in the 26-2 win at Mitchell. Picked up 15 GB's which is tied for third all-time at FSC.
- Clay Yingling – Midfield – Bethany College
Had a team high four goals in Saturday's loss to William Peace.
- Gerald Haadsma – Midfield – Albion
Big win over Otterbein on Sunday, 4-time captain, won 14 of the 19 faceoffs (took all for the Brits). Also added a goal and an assist.
- Ryan Barnable – Midfield – RIT
Barnable scored three goals to help lead No. 1 RIT to a season-opening 19-9 win over Muhlenberg. Barnable fired nine shots, including seven on net. He scored the Tigers first goal and scored twice in the second quarter.
