The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 13th 2019 Division I Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, May 7. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
 
The list of honorees are as follows:

Ryan Conrad, Virginia (Sr., SSDM, Timonium, MD.)
Had two goals, a caused turnover and three ground balls in Virginia’s 10-4 win over Notre Dame in the ACC  championship game; named the MVP of the tournament.
 
Joey Epstein, Johns Hopkins (Fr., A, Bethesda, MD.)
Scored seven goals and had two assists in Hopkins’ 18-17 OT loss to No. 1 Penn State; scored two goals 11 seconds apart in the final minute to force OT; had three goals and two assists in the 12-7 semifinal win over Maryland.
 
Kyle Gallagher, Penn (Jr., FO, Northport, N.Y.)
Went 15 for 26, including 13 for 24 against  Yale’s TD Ierlan, in Penn’s 12-11 win over Yale in the Ivy tournament final; finished the ILT at 26 for 48 with 20 ground balls.
 
Alex Heger, Robert Morris (Sr., G, Carmel, Ind.)
Made 26 saves in two games as RMU won the NEC title; made a huge save in overtime against top-seeded Mt. St. Mary’s; shut the Mount out for the final 18:55 as the Colonials rallied from down five goals to win; made nine first-half saves against Hobart in the final and also shut Hobart out for a 1457 second-half stretch as RMU went on a 5-0 run to take control.
 
Sean Menges, Richmond (Jr., LSM, Richmond, Va.)
Had three caused turnovers and five ground balls as Richmond defeated Air Force and High Point to win the Southern Conference tournament; also had an assist in the final as the defense held High Point to a season-low seven goals in the 15-7 win in one of two games this season where High Point was held to single digits.
 
Mac O’Keefe, Penn State (Jr., A, Syosset, N.Y.)
Had six goals and two assists in an 18-17 win over Johns Hopkins in the Big Ten championship game; scored the game-winning goal 35 seconds into OT; had three goals and one assist in the 18-6 win over Rutgers in the semifinal.
 
Trevor Patschorke, UMBC (So., A, Severna Park, MD.)
Scored four goals in UMBC’s 14-13 win over Vermont in the America East tournament final; scored the game-winner with 1:06 to play; had two goals and three assists in a 14-8 win over Stony Brook in the semifinals.
 
Johnny Surdick, Army West Point (Sr., D, Odenton, MD.)
Led a defense that allowed just 17 goals in three games in six days as Army West Point won the Patriot League championship; held Loyola’s Pat Spencer to no goals and one assist in the 7-5 win in the semifinals.
 
Joe Tierney, Marist (Jr., M, Bethpage, N.Y.)
Had three goals in a 15-14 win over Quinnipiac in the MAAC championship game; had four goals in an 11-10 win over Canisius in the semifinal; came into the tournament with 12 goals for the season and then had seven more in two games.
 
Lucas Wittenberg, Georgetown (Sr., M/A, Kennesaw, GA.)
Had a goal and eight assists in a 13-12 win over Providence in the Big East semifinal; had two goals and two assists in the 12-9 win over Denver in the final.
