The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 12th 2019 Division II Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, April 30. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
Lucas Shafer, Maryville (Sr., A, Hamburg, N.Y.)
Scored a career-high eight goals against No. 14 Rockhurst in the GLVC Tournament Semifinals. Completed a hat trick in the first quarter. Tied the game three different times with scores. Led the team with three CTs. Had double-digit points for second time this season. Ended year with 53 goals.
Brian Jockers, NYIT (Jr. GK, North Massapequa, N.Y.)
Brian had 5.00 GAA in two games for the week; helped NYIT rally from an 0-3 start to ECC play and clinch a playoff berth on the final day of the regular season with a third straight win.
Carson Rees, Chestnut Hill (So., A, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia)
Carson scored 12 goals on only 17 shots. Helped Chestnut Hill finish conference play undefeated.
Jack Belobrajdic, UIndy (Jr., D, O’Fallon, IL.)
Led a UIndy defense that limited Montevallo to just three goals in the first three quarters in the GLVC semifinal on Friday ... scooped up five ground balls and caused one turnover in the win over #14 Rockhurst for the GLVC title
Danny Keenan, Pace (Sr., A, Mount Sinai, N.Y.)
Keenan once again piloted the 11th-ranked Setters to a pair of victories last week, including an NE10 quarterfinal triumph over Bentley. He finished the stretch with 12 points (six in each game) off nine goals and three assists.
Antonio Rey, Mercy (Jr., FO/M, Liverpool, N.Y.)
Antonio went 17-of-18 on faceoffs with a game-high nine ground balls and also scored in Mercy's win over STAC.
Christian Thomas, Merrimack (So., A, Wrentham, Mass.)
Sophomore Christian Thomas added another 12 points in two games to his season total, helping the Warriors earn a road win at Saint Michael's in the regular season finale before toppling Saint Anselm, 14-8, in the opening round of the league championship. He had five points at Saint Michael's before adding another seven against the Hawks. He also had nine ground balls and a caused turnover.
Davis Cronin, Merrimack (So., FO/M, Boston, Mass.)
Sophomore Davis Cronin was an impressive 33-of-42 on the faceoff X last week, including an impressive 20-of-24 in the opening round of the NE10 Championship to help Merrimack punch its 15th straight trip to the league tournament semifinals. He also finished with 13 ground balls.
Wyatt Weiseman, Wingate (Sr., FO, Jensen Beach, Fla.)
SAC Tournament MVP - Won 19 of 21 face-offs in the SAC Tourney semifinals for #13 Wingate; Won 15-of-24 in the SAC title game while adding a goal in the 11-9 victory
Drake O’Neill, Rockhurst (Jr., M, Boise, Idaho)
Led #14 Rockhurst with 12 points on 9 goals and 3 assists in two games at the GLVC Tournament in Indianapolis. Scored 6 goals in 18-13 win over Maryville and added 3 goals in 15-14 loss to #6 Indianapolis in the GLVC finals.
