The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its ninth 2019 Division I Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, April 9. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
Jared Bernhardt, Maryland (Jr, A, Longwood, Fla.)
Had five goals and three assists in a 16-12 win over Michigan; tied his career high with eight points and stretched his streak of consecutive games of at least three goals to five.
Joey Epstein, Johns Hopkins (Fr., A, Bethesda, Md.)
Had five goals and three assists in a 15-13 win over Rutgers; both the goal and assist totals both tied career highs.
TD Ierlan, Yale (Jr., FO, Victor, N.Y.)
Won 23 of 24 face-offs and had 20 ground balls in a 20-8 win over Dartmouth; face-off dominance enabled Yale to take 82 shots.
Michael Kraus, Virginia (Jr., A, New Canaan, Conn.)
Had five goals and an assist in an 11-10 win over North Carolina; the win clinched the No. 1 seed in the ACC tournament for the Cavs for the first time since 2010.
Clarke Petterson, Cornell (Sr., A, Toronto, Ont.)
Had five goals, on five shots, and two assists in a 19-11 win over Harvard; went over the 100-goal mark for his career.
Cathal Roberts, Princeton (Fr., D, Dublin, Ireland)
Had three caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 14-4 win over Stony Brook; led a defense that held Stony Brook to 4 for 45 shooting and shut out the Seawolves for a 23-minute first half stretch as the Tigers built a 9-2 halftime lead.
Pat Spencer, Loyola (Sr., A, Davidsonville, Md.)
Scored five goals and had six assists in a 15-9 win over Lehigh in a game Loyola led 9-0; became the first Division I player since 2015 to reach 10 points in back-to-back games while moving into third place all-time in career assists in NCAA history with 209.
Ryan Tierney, Hofstra (Jr., A, Massapequa, N.Y.)
Had career highs of six goals and eight points in a 10-9 OT win over UMass; scored the game-tying goal and then assisted on the winning goal in overtime.
Will Vitton, Villanova (Fr., G, Summit, N.J.)
Made 19 saves in a 12-11 win at Denver; made 10 saves in the second half.
Alex Woodall, Towson (Sr., FO/M Annapolis, Md.)
Won 22 of 25 face-offs with 16 ground balls in a 14-7 win over Fairfield; also had two assists off won face-offs.
