The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 11th 2019 Division III Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, April 23. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
Peter Pittroff, Denison University (Jr., A, Charlotte, N.C.)
Totaled 9 assists in Denison's 23-9 win over Wooster. Returned with 3 goals adn 6 assists against Wittenberg. Only a junior, Pittroff moved into third place on Denison's career points list (228).
Brett Malamphy, Salisbury University (Sr., FO /M, Crofton, Md.)
Brett turned in another exceptional week for the maroon and gold as he was once again dominant from the faceoff X. For the week Malamphy won 38-of-48 faceoffs for a win percentage of .792 while scooping up a team best 22 groundballs. Against No. 3 York, despite the loss, Malamphy won 17-of-24 faceoffs for a win percentage of .708. Then against Southern Virginia Malamphy lost just three faceoffs the entire game posting his third 20-plus faceoff win performance of the season and second in three games. He currently ranks first in the CAC in both faceoff wins and groundballs with 229 and 132 respectively.
Brooks Davy, Denison University (Sr., A, Wilmington, N.C.)
Scored 8 goals on 8 shots in #13 Denison's 23-9 win over Wooster and tallied 5 goals and 1 assist in a 17-10 victory over Wittenberg.
Ethan Donlon, Haverford College (So., G, Concord, N.H.)
Stopped 19 of #10 Ursinus' 28 shots on goal during a 12-9 Haverford victory to keep the Fords alive for a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Fords now have two top 10 victories this season out of their five victories.
Hunter Davis, York College (Pa.) (Sr., A, Finksburg, Md.)
Davis began the week with seven points on five goals and two assists in the win over the Sea Gulls. He also had two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Davis followed that with six points on four goals and two assists in the 18-7 win over Mary Washington in the Spartans' CAC finale.
Max Tennant, Ohio Wesleyan University (Sr., A, Englewood, Colo.)
Tied school record with 10 goals vs. Wabash...also collected 6 ground balls...the two wins moved Ohio Wesleyan to 6-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference...the 11 goals moved his career total to 244, ranking eighth all-time in NCAA Division III.
Dante Poli, Stockton University (Fr., A, Doylestown, PA)
Led team in points and tied for team lead in goals last week... Scored career-high seven goals in win over Messiah... Had career highs of seven assists and 10 points in win over Bryn Athyn.
Jordan Krug, Cabrini University (Sr., A, Marlton, N.J.)
Paired 3 goals, 2 assists against Marymount, then added 4 goals, 3 assists ina victory over Stevenson. He also entered the program record book with his 100th career assist and 300th career point
Camden Stramanak, Randolph-Macon College (So, D, Annapolis, MD)
Helped shut out Roanoke in the first quarter, helping the Yellow Jackets push the score to 4-0 in a game that finished with a four goal differential. Was R-MC's first win against Roanoke since 1972 and just second overall win for R-MC vs. Roanoke. Defensively, forced seven TO's this week
Evan Wolf, Amherst College (Sr., A, Wynnewood, PA)
The spark in No. 6 Amherst's offense in a dominant 25-12 win over No. 12 Bates, senior Evan Wolf netted a game-high four goals and dished out two helpers to total six points, a GB, and a 40.0 shot percentage in the matchup.
