The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its fourth 2019 Division I Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, March 4. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
Tyler Canto, Towson (Jr., G, Billerica, Mass.)
Made 14 saves in 12-10 win over then No. 1 Loyola; included in his 14 saves was one on a change-of-direction off a point-blank shot that he made while actually in a sitting position.
Connor Fletcher, Cornell (Jr., M, Newtown, Pa.)
Had two goals and two assists in a 17-16 win over Albany; all of his scoring came in the second half, including the game-winning goal with 14 seconds left.
Aaron Forster, NJIT (Sr., A, Ottawa, Ont).
Had nine goals and two assists for 11 points in a 16-14 loss to Quinnipiac; his nine goals and 11 points broke his own school records and tied for the national single-game highs for this season.
Danny Jones, Johns Hopkins (Sr., M, Baldwin, N.Y.)
Tied the school record with six caused turnovers in a 14-12 win over Princeton; also had three ground balls

Michael Kraus, Virginia (Jr., A, New Canaan, Conn.)
Had three goals and three assists as UVa overcame a four-goal deficit with 10 minutes left to defeat Syracuse 15-14 in OT; all three assists were in the final 8:26 or OT, and he scored the game-tying goal with 1:12 left.
Joe Saggese, Sacred Heart (Sr., A, St. James, N.Y.)
Scored four goals and had three assists as Sacred Heart defeated Providence 17-16; had two goals and three assists in the second half as the Pioneers rallied from a 10-5 halftime deficit.
Peyton Smith, Marist (Jr., FO, Raleigh, N.C.)
Won 42 of 50 face-offs as the Red Foxes defeated Hartford and Stony Brook for the team’s first two wins of the season; also had 22 ground balls.
Nick Spillane, Penn State (Sr., M, Franklin Square, N.Y.)
Had three goals and an assist in a 15-14 win over Penn; scored the game-tying and game-winning goals 29 seconds apart in the final 2:29.
Matthew Vangalen, Detroit Mercy (Sr., A, Orangeville, Ont.)
Scored three goals and had six assists in a 15-14 win over Bellarmine; set the school record for assists in a game and also scored the game-winning goal with nine seconds to play.
Brian Willetts, Notre Dame (Jr., A, Saint James, N.Y.)
Had three goals and two assists in a 14-13 win over Maryland; scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
