The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its second 2019 Division I Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week accolades on Tuesday, February 19. Ten players earned recognition from the organization as they each posted exceptional performances in their programs games this past week.
The list of honorees are as follows:
JT Giles-Harris, Duke (Jr., D, Nyack, N.Y.)
Held Denver’s Ethan Walker without a point in Duke’s 10-9 win; Duke rallied from a three-goal fourth-quarter deficit to win.
Dylan Jinks, Hartford (Sr., A, Cedar Run, N.J.)
Scored eight goals and had an assist in an 18-10 loss to St. John’s; tied the school single-game record for goals.
Josh Kirson, Ohio State (So., GK, Newton, Mass.)
Made 17 saves in an 11-7 win over UMass; made eight saves while allowing no goals in the third quarter as Ohio State built a 10-6 after the game had been 6-6 at the half.
Connor Kirst, Villanova (So., M, Bernardville, N.J.)
Scored the game-winning goal in the 11-10 win over defending NCAA champion Yale; also had two assists in the game, as well as the ground ball on the face-off to start overtime.
Jason Knox, Hobart (Fr., A, Huntsville, Ont.)
Scored nine goals in a 22-12 win over Siena; the nine goals broke the Northeast Conference record for goals in a game.
Mac O’Keefe, Penn State (Jr., A, Syosset, N.Y.)
Scored seven goals and had an assist in a 17-4 win over Stony Brook; all eight points came in the first half as Penn State built an 11-0 lead the break.
Matthew Pedicine, Hobart (Sr., FO, Clark, N.J.)
Won 32 of 37 face-offs and had 20 ground balls in a 22-12 win over Siena; the 32 won face-offs broke the NCAA record for face-off wins in a game, and the 20 ground balls were a school record.
Jack Rowlett, North Carolina (Sr., D, Burke, Va.)
Had seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls in a 16-11 win over Harvard; both totals were career highs, and the seven caused turnovers were three more than he’d had in any game before.
Pat Spencer, Loyola (Sr., A, Davidsonville, Md.)
Had three goals and four assists in an 18-12 win over Johns Hopkins; Loyola moved up to the No. 1 spot in the national rankings.
Max Tuttle, Sacred Heart (Sr., M, Castle Rock, Colo.)
Had six goals and two assists for a career-high eight points in an 18-11 win over Furman; the game moved him past the 100-goal mark for his career.
