BALTIMORE, Md. - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) had their annual awards at the 2019 Nike Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) convention luncheon on Friday.

The University of Indianapolis men’s lacrosse head coach Greg Stocks was named the 2019 USILA Francis "Babe" Kraus Division II Coach of the Year.

Stocks knows how to build lacrosse programs; that much is obvious. After starting the UIndy men's lacrosse program from the ground up in 2015, Stocks has led the Greyhounds to four consecutive winning seasons. In 2019, the Greyhounds were 16- 3 overall record, earning a berth in the NCAA tournament in just the program's fourth season, and became the second-fastest team ever to reach the NCAA national semifinal. UIndy reached as high as No. 4 in the USILA Coaches Poll, the highest ranking the program has achieved. The Greyhounds went a perfect 6-0 during GLVC play, earning the right to host and eventually win their second straight conference title. Stocks was named the league's coach of the year, the third time in his career he has received the award. UIndy became the fastest program to win multiple NCAA tournament games.

Dr. Willey, the Vice President for Athletics at University of Indianapolis has this to say about Coach Stocks, “Greg Stocks is a player’s coach and a definite winner. He has the unique ability to build new programs from the ground up and to turn them into very successful programs in a relatively short time. It is outstanding what Greg has done at UIndy and he has done it by recruiting great studen athletes who get it done in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. He has done it by recruiting players from other parts of the country to a state in which lacrosse is just now gaining popularity in the high schools. I could not be more proud of his efforts at UIndy over the past five years. Thank you for presenting Greg Stocks the USILA Division II Coach of the Year Award, as he is certainly deserving of this special recognition.”

These USILA awards are presented annually to the nation's most outstanding lacrosse head coaches for Division I, II, and III.
