PRIMARY DUTIES

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION.

The primary function of this position is to provide instruction to student athletes.

• (60%) Instruct students in the proper execution of techniques, strategies, and conditioning; provide education through practice, in-game adjustments, film study, lecture, individual skill instruction, and other approved teaching methods.

This position is a part-time coaching position open to those who are in the process of enrolling in a graduate degree program at Averett University or have recently been accepted to a graduate program at the University.  Continuous enrollment with good academic standing in one of Averett University's graduate programs is a requirement of this position.
Qualifications

• Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30p.m.

Physical Characteristics:

• This position requires physical activity in all types of weather conditions, includes sitting for long periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping when working in various athletics and recreational facilities.  This position does have some limited lifting involved but not more than 50 pounds at a time. Quite a bit of finger/hand dexterity is involved in regards to typing, moving equipment and other related activities.   The overall setting of the job is in an area conducive to a normal athletic field/gym/fitness center environment with some exposure to adverse conditions.

Administers Men's Varsity Lacrosse and coordinates all related activities, which includes recruiting, scheduling, practice sessions, and equipment purchases in conjunction with the overall strategic plan for Athletics.
